Indonesian Health Drinks
Wedang Bandrek

Wedang Bandrek is the traditional drink of jawabara, this drink made from ginger. which could lead to a sense of warmth to the body. This beverage suitable for drinking when the rain or cold weather.
The following recipe makes wedang bandrek:
Material:
• 1000 ml water
• 200 grams of brown sugar, mashed
• 100 grams of roasted ginger, crushed
• 5 cm cinnamon
• 2 pieces of pandan leaves
• five point cloves
• 1 / 2 teaspoon salt
How to Make:
1. Boil water, add pandan leaves, brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt to a boil and let the aroma.
2. Strain and Serve in cups while still warm.
Wedang Uwuh

Wedang uwuh originated from Yogyakarta in Central Java, Uwuh in Javanese means garbage. referred to as pulp or waste materials this drink when it has been mixed to look like garbage. Wedang uwuh a health or herbal drinks, because the drink consists of: ginger, which is an anticoagulant, is used to blood circulation, and lowers cholesterol, and a sense of warmth from the ginger after taste nutritious warm, remove a cold, mild cough, and throat . whereas Cinnamon has a powerful antioxidant properties to increase endurance, how to make wedang uwuh are:
Material:
• 700 ml water
• 40 g of dry wood shavings cup
• 50 g rock sugar or brown sugar
• 6 cm ginger, crushed
• 2 pieces of cinnamon leaf dry
• 3 pieces of clove leaf dry
• 3 pieces of dried leaves, nutmeg
• 10 grains of cloves / clove stem dry
• Can be added to a fruit stem lemongrass or lime leaves so fragrant.
How to Make:
1. Roasted ginger, crushed.
2. Cook the water in a saucepan. Enter the ginger, cloves / clove stems, leaves, cloves, cinnamon leaf, leaves, nutmeg, a cup of wood shavings, ginger and rock sugar. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Boil for approximately 15 minutes. Lift and filter (can also be served without filtered).
3. Pour into a glass. Serve while still warm
Wedang Secang

Another traditional drink from yogyakarta central java is a lot of benefits for health, where the timber has a cup of efficacious pharmacological effect to stop bleeding, blood cleanser, pengelat, detoxifying and antiseptic.
And a red cup that naturally contain substances: safrole, tannins, acetic prophil phenil, carmintive, and stomakik. Substance - is useful for: reducing stress, easing respiration, increases the appetite, sweating hands feet, breaking the gas in the stomach, improve digestion and asthma.
Besides the wooden cup can also overcome the interference of coronary artery narrowing and also serves to reduce blood pressure so that blood circulation becomes current.
How to make a cup Wedang:
Material:
• 5 pieces of Java Cabe
• 5 pieces cubeb
• 5 pieces Cardamom
• 5 pieces cloves
• 50 grams of ginger, roasted and crushed
• 50 grams of lemongrass (white only)
• 1 piece of cinnamon to taste
• 5 grams of wood cup or to taste
• 500 ml water
• 75 grams of rock sugar may be substituted sugar or honey, to taste
How to Make:
All materials except wood and sugar cup washed and boiled with a small flame so that substances contained in them can come out perfectly. After the water brownish and smells good, put a cup timber, allow it to boil water and the reddish color. After that add sugar or honey to taste, and serve in glasses or cups in hot conditions.

Rosella Tea

Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa l). been known as a flower, is actually the calyx of fruit. Because the shape of a flower, so people call Rosella flower
Rosella flowers contain gosipetin, anthocyanin, an antioxidant and glukosid hibiscin. Useful for overcoming or preventing cancer and inflammatory diseases, controlling blood pressure, blood circulation, lowers blood viscosity, lower blood pressure, and stimulates intestinal movement, heart disease, hypertension, nerve pain, digestive illness. Also, it can prevent the formation of kidney stones and smooth bowel movement or as peluruh urine.
Rosella flower can be processed into a variety of healthy foods and beverages, among others.
- Rosella Tea
Rosella tea or red tea is a health beverage that is trusted sour taste of these drinks, such as java acidic, so for those who have problems with stomach acid should be used to add moisture, or add honey or sugar.
Method:
How to create Rosella flower tea is quite easy. Pour boiling water for approximately 5 fruit Rosella flower petals that have been dried with hot water, wait 3-5 minutes and Rosella flower tea ready to drink, for a sweet love can be added with sugar or honey.
- Jam rosella flower
Material:
250 Gram Rosella flowers
1 tablespoon cornstarch
150 Ml White Water
150 gr Sugar
Leom 3 tbsp lemon / lime
¼ tsp Vanilla Pasta
¼ tsp Salt FineDirection:
Blender rosella flowers, water and cornstarch until smooth.
Remove and pour into pan
Add the sugar and water
Cook until boiling
Enter Lime, Vanilla paste and salt.
Cook until sauce thickens texture.

- Rosella syrup
Material
25 Roselle flower dried
1 / 2 kg of rock sugar
3 lbr lemon leaves as flavoring
9 cups water
Direction:
cook all ingredients over medium heat, until the remaining 6 cups of water, lifting and aged after cold, serve as roselle syrup plus ice cubes to taste.
- Coconut Ice Syrup Rosella
Material
A young coconut
1 canned nata de coco
Rosella syrup to tastePresentation
Enter five or more glasses of nata de coco on food, shaved coconut meat. Pour the coconut milk and syrup roselle. Ready to serve with additional ice cubes.
Curcurma ( Temulawak )

Curcuma is a health drink because turmeric curcuminoids have a useful compound for the prevention of various diseases such as coronary heart disease, stroke and rheumatic.
How to make Curcurma
Material :
- 50 grams of curcuma
- Kawak acid (seedless) 20 grams
- Kencur 25 grams
- 10 grams cumin
- 100 ml boiled water
- 100 grams sugar
- 2 pieces of pandan leaf
- 1 liter of water
Method:
1. Thin slices of ginger and kencur, toasted briefly.
2. Mix the turmeric, tamarind kawak, kencur, cumin and 100 ml of boiled water, puree with the blender.
3. Boil water with sugar and pandan leaves until sugar has dissolved.
4. Mix the turmeric mixed with boiled sugar water, stir well. Filter.
5. Serve warm or cold.
Rice Kencur ( beras Kencur )

Indian galanga (Kaempferia galanga Linn) is one type of empon-empon or medicinal plants belonging to the tribe-finding meeting (Zingiberaceae), another name is cekur (Malaysia) and pro hom Systems (Thailand), cikur (Sunda), ceuko (aceh) , kencor (Madurese), cekuh (Bali), kencur, sukung (Minahasa), Asauli, sauleh, soul, for instance, or cangkor (Ambon), cekir (Sumba).
Rhizome / rizoma or roots of this plant contains volatile oil and alkaloids are useful as a stimulant (for immunity). Eliminating such as tiredness and soreness in joints, prevent colds, relieve cough, increases the appetite and Lowers fever
How to make rice kencur
Material :
- Rice 200 grams
- Boiling water 100 ml
- Kencur 50 grams, clean
- Ginger 50 grams, clean
- 2 pieces of pandan leaf
- Factors, 1 / 2 teaspoon
- Cardamom 10 fruit
- Cubeb 1 / 2 teaspoon
- Brown Sugar 300 grams
- Water 1500 ml Salt to taste
Method:
1. Cleaned rice and drain. Roasted and soak in boiling water for 2 hours.
2. Kencur ginger and toasted, remove and set aside.
3. Mix the soaked rice, kencur, ginger which has been roasted, factors,, cardamom, cubeb and a little salt. Puree in blender.
4. Boil water with brown sugar and pandan and boil until sugar has dissolved.
5. Mix the rice kencur with sugar water, stir well and then filtered. Serve while warm or cold.
Turmeric Tamarind ( Kunyit Asem )

Turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.) Or any other name yin, cin, Chiang Huang (China), indian saffron, turmeric (UK), curcuma, SAFRAN des Indes (French), turmeric (Italy), acafrao da India (Portuguese), whereas in Indonesian turmeric has a different name in each area like hunik (Batak), kunyir (Lampung), Intersection of yellow, turmeric (Java), koneng (Sunda), konyet, Intersection koneng (Madura), kunidi (North Sulawesi), kuminu (Ambon) , rame (Irian)
Turmeric is a form of shrubs and medicinal plants are annual (perenial) spread throughout the tropics. Turmeric plants grow lush and wild forests surrounding. Many said that turmeric comes from India, but the words Curcuma derived from Arabic and Greek Kurkum Karkom.
In the years 77-78 BC, Dioscorides called this plant as Cyperus resembles ginger, but bitter, chocolate, and a little spicy, and non-toxic. Turmeric is largely grown in South Asia particularly in India, South China, Taiwan, Indonesia (Java), and the Philippines.
In Java (Indonesia), turmeric is used as traditional medicines, industrial raw materials of herbal medicine and cosmetics, ingredients, cooking spices, livestock, health drinks etc..
Turmeric rhizome or root turmeric plant is useful as an anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, preventing cancer, anti-tumor, and lower levels of blood fats and cholesterol, as well as a blood cleanser.
How to create a drink turmeric Asem
Material:
- 1 / 2 kg Turmeric
- 1 / 4 Sugar java
- 1 / 2 Kg java acidic
- 2 Liter Water
- salt to taste
How to Make:
1. Clean up continues grated turmeric or blender. Then in the filter and capture the water.
2. Boil the juice of turmeric, the input of acid, sugar and salt to a boil while in stir.
3. Chill, turmeric, tamarind Herbal ready to drink, could also add ice cubes.
